Gabriel Kalkbrenner (b. 1797) and his son Domion (1826-1889) left Edigheim in Baden, Germany and immigrated to America. They settled in Belleville, St. Clair Co., Illinois and there Domion married Katherine Lang 21 April 1851. Domion and Katherine had at least four children born to them in Belleville. Martin Lang born 9 Nov. 1801 in Pfaffenweiler, Baden, Germany married Gertrude Katherine Wagner on the 20 Nov. 1826. They had four children born in Germany and in 1842 immigrated to the United States. The family arrived at Baltimore, Maryland and by the year 1850 had settled in St. Clair Co., Illinois. Martin and Gertrude both lived and died in Illinois. Descendants lived in Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.

Ernst Wegener was born in 1803 in Prussia and married Francisca Scheffer (b. 1798). They had a son born in 1833 at Bielefeld, Westphalia, Prussia. The family immigrated to the United States in 1837 from Bremen, Germany. In 1847, Ernst was a tailor at St. Louis, Missoui, and by 1850, the family lived at Washington, Franklin County, Missouri.
